A Recent Portrait I’m Pleased With

New babies and moms are fun to photograph.  I really enjoy doing it and look forward to every opportunity that comes along.

I expect I’ll have another chance with this little girl, ‘cause she’s my newest neighbour.  Welcome to the neighbourhood sweetie.

Photographers and children love clouds

Clouds are inspiring and beautiful.  Dynamic.  Peaceful. Tranquil. Threatening.

Constantly moving, changing, shifting

Photographs of clouds make great foundations for advertisements, magazine covers, websites, greeting cards, blogs, album covers.  A myriad of uses.

I’m a photographer.  I love to photograph clouds.  I love to just lay on my back of a summer afternoon and watch the clouds float by.

I have lots of pictures of clouds available for all manner of commercial, editorial and educational uses.

Stop by and have a look.  Clouds.

Or browse the complete on-line library  (Lottsa good stuff there!)

If you go out in the woods today

be careful what you eat

Recently I noticed an unusual red sap excretion on the trunk of an American Hornbeam (Ironwood  - Ostrya virginiana) tree behind my house.  So I photographed it for my online image catalogue.

Turns out it’s likely something called Tree Slime, a Cryptococcus macerans yeast infection.

While interesting in colour, it’s not something to be eaten, as it can cause a Meningoencephalitis  infection that can develop into a very serious epilepsy and even perhaps be fatal.

Now I’m confident you don’t make a habit of tasting every strange thing you find in the woods, however interesting it may be.  But this is one you certainly don’t want to try.

Here are a couple more closeup photos.
